Following her graduation from high school Garcia proceeded into Texas Christain University studied there for a short time before transfer onto The University of Texas. Her experience was enhanced by the rivalry at the University and her skills became more pronounced over the course of time. Angela Akin Garcia was a excellent golfer, but she never imagined pursuing a career in the field of golf. Her choice was to study journalism instead. In the end, when her university graduation she was offered a position as a Fox Sports Southwest journalist.
